How to get the “Best” price for a full covered Rental car with ease in seconds in【Germany】

Rent a car is easy, but to have the best price needs to do a bunch of works. So how do you get the best price easily? Price comparing websites can be helper! In Germany, there are many comparison websites that can help you find the best deals. Today, I will introduce a well-known comparison website in Germany called Check24 to you.

Personally, I have the best experience renting cars through this website. They offer various rental packages with discounts, and their services are only not limited to Germany, you can also rent a car all over Europe. The only downside is that the website is only available in German. Today, I will show you how to conquer the downside, to use Check24 to rent a car for my trip to Finland.

Searching for your trip

The renting start with search with “Date, Time, and Place” you want.

• After clicking on the website link(select “Mietwagen” (car rental) from the blue menu at the top if you are not seeing the same page above), and it will lead you to the car renting page.
• In the orange box in the middle left (Abholort), you can enter the city where you want to rent and return the car.
• Choosing “Same place” on the left or “Different place” on the right
• Select the driver’s age on drawdown below (which affects the insurance price).
• Select the date and time you want to rent the car, as well as the date and time you want to return it.
• It is important to note that in Germany, the date format is day, month, year(DD,MM,YYYY).
• Once everything is confirmed, you can click on “Mietwagen finden” to start the selection of cars.

Selecting the car

After entering the search criteria,
The searching results page will display all the rental car contracts provided by companies cooperating with Check24.
The red arrows indicate four options for sorting the contracts,
which are: highest Check24 rating, highest customer rating, lowest price, and most frequently selected.
It is important to note that most contracts do not specify a single car model,
but rather offer a range of cars within the same class.
For example, selecting a compact car class will provide a list of cars in that class from various rental companies.
but ususally I get the same car I want :).

Fliters

The leftmost column allows you to filter the contracts by various criteria, ranging from car type (sedan, SUV, etc.), number of doors (3 or 5), additional services (such as baby seats, GPS, or winter tires).

However, most of the time you don’t need to apply any filters,
as the most commonly selected options are usually already included these services in the rental contract.

After your selection

After selecting car option, you will see this screen, which will confirm the rental and return times and locations,
as well as any additional services you may want.
The lower part with 3 selections is the travel insurance Check24 offer in partnership with Allianz, and the basic option, which is included in the price, covers theft and vehicle damage.

• The first tab “Angebotsdetails” shows the detailed information of the car rental contract.
  On this contract, the car is a 2-door, 2-seater car with 2 luggage compartments, manual transmission, air conditioning, and unlimited mileage, with the price including winter tires, which are mandatory in Germany during the winter season regardless of snow conditions.
• The second tab “Versicherungsschutz” shows the coverage of the insurance included in the contract.
• The third tab shows the acceptable payment methods.
• The last tab provides information about the provider of the rental contract.

After reviewing all the information, you can go back to the original page and to register as a member so to make the reservation and payment.
Usually, all cars can be changed or canceled for free up to 24 hours before pick-up.

After confirmation, you will receive detailed information similar to the image below.
You can use this document to pick up the rental car on-site or through provide your ID and name instead.
